Cocky Creatures

The Acrostic Bug has got me..... a much more genial insect!

COCKY CREATURES!

Coyly hiding under chairs
Out to catch us unawares.
Cupboards make a place for lurking.
Kitchens where a human's working.
Rushing over empty spaces
On their way to darker places.
Antique denizens from the past
Creatures that will last and last.
Hiding, nibbling through the ages
Existing through earth's many stages.
Silently they skitter on; they'll be here when we have gone.

Yes, I am sure they will be here when we are gone. Cute tribute to cockroaches. This brings back memories of low cost housing of a poor student.

Fun acrostic about dirty beasties.

Urgh! If I saw anything like that lurking here I would be gone, back to the burbs! It was bad enough when I had a mouse that couldn't be caught, cheeky devil. Need I say how much your rime hits home!

PS About the mouse, I recently read To a Mouse by Robert Burns. Some things don't change, except the language, which is a riot in this one!
