The Eyes Have it.

THE EYES HAVE IT

'The Eyes are the windows of the soul';
How often have we heard that said.
And certainly we see a soul
In the eyes of a quadruped.
The eye of a snake may blink
But it's still expressionless;
But the eye of a chimpanzee
Is like ours, in that it can express
Every emotion we feel.....
From fear to mirth to hate;
When we look in the eye of a monkey
We can communicate.
The mind of an animal still
Is almost a closed book,
But what is really certain
Is that an eye does more than look.
Who could think of harming
'Little brother' in the shot above?
If only all animals could look at us
And express a mutual love.

STORM APPROACHING SYDNEY.

Feelers! Feeling the sky ahead.
Tendrilling out to touch the unblemished blue.
Testing the water for the coming storm.

I do think one can read much in the eyes of many animals! (Or do I just WANT to think that?)

perhaps the love is mutual and we are not equipped to comprehend that?
