CHEVRE FEUILLE
asks for a haiku on the subject
FIREWORKS
Spurting into life
Hanging like chrysanthemums
In an instant, dead

UNAVOIDABLE
We cannot avoid the void.
There is more of it
Than anything else.
It is all around us,
Waiting.
We, who are not of the void,
Are imaginery.
Look at this hand,
Tapping the keys.
The hand will wither,
The keys will destruct,
But the void will go on unheeding.
We will step off into it
One day,
Maybe soon.
We cannot avoid the void.

You have beautifully seized the character and personality of fireworks.....But I loved your poem - it was a bit scary, but perfectly so.....
"We cannot avoid the void" becomes a refrain, almost a mantra! And love your momentary thought on fireworks reflecting their life span!
It takes time to create firework displays -- but once they start the show is over in a "flash"!! :-)

Good day Rinkly, thank you for contributing this wonderful haiku for Tackle It Tuesday. You have written a lovely haiku on fireworks. I love your choice for the Chrysanthemum. Thank you for sharing.
