The human race has a prediliction
For 'rubbing along' with lots of friction.
When life should run on well-oiled wheels,
We get lots of snarls and squeals.
Take committees! If I'm right,
All is not sweetness and light!
If one says 'A' another says 'B',
Then yet another cries out 'C'!
What a great world we could share
If friction were not always there!
*
But wait! The alternative's not great!
Living in a placid agreeable state!
Imagine a society
In which there is no rivalry!
In which we all say 'Yes' and smile
Agreeing, agreeing all the while!
Think.... we'd all be 'of one mind'!
With not one contract to be signed!
Life would flow like a turgid stream
And how boring it would seem!
Friction adds a little zing
That helps our lives go with a swing.
It's when it's getting out of hand
That human friction should be banned!
A little spat?
Exhilarating.
Exhilarating.
A world at war?
Exterminating!
Exterminating!

BUSHWALK.
Bush-walking is a pastime that everyone enjoys
Bush-walking is a pastime that everyone enjoys
And it need not be exhausting or intense.
There are many wild and gentle places waiting to be found
Where you'll never see a gate or find a fence.
Look at this scenario; the shops are just next-door;
We haven't had to drive to find the area.
We haven't had to drive to find the area.
Even as we stroll we hear the traffic's vibrant roar!
We're not up in the Gulf of Carpentaria!
We're not up in the Gulf of Carpentaria!
The eucalypts are everywhere, and leafy ferns as well,
And little creeks meander down the hill.
The bell-birds hiding in the trees chime their tinkling songs
And the kookaburra's laugh is loud and shrill.
This isn't really country, though it seems a rural place;
The city isn't very far away.
But the bushland still envelopes us with true Australian charm.
And I'm sure I hear it whispering 'G'day!'

Friction certainly adds zing to the mix and I guess life could be pretty dull without it.
Love the way you have worded your thoughts on Friction.
In NZ, we have soldiers dying in Afghanistan. There is a lot of friction among the people. Bring our soldiers home.
