Artifice

THREE WORD WEDNESDAY

ARTIFICE

There must be a very narrow line
Between truth and artifice
And actors must often wonder
'What emotion is this?'
If one spends ones whole life acting
When it comes to being sincere
The partner of an actor
Must think 'What's this I hear?'
Actors aim to excite, amuse
And, in other ways, entertain;
They can act as cold or sad or moved;
They can even act insane!
So if one looks into your eyes
And speaks as from the heart,
A little voice will whisper
'Is he just playing a part?'

NATURE LESSON
(A poem for children)

Ducks and turtles and little frogs
Swim around the rocks and logs,
They have all got special feet;
Their swimming gear is very neat.
They have webs between their toes,
That's the way a duck's foot grows.
Human feet are nice and pink
But not as good as ours, I think.
Our webbed feet are what I'd choose!
You'd better go and find your shoes!

That is the trouble with the acting world too, isn't it. You never know if they are still acting when not in front of a camera because they are so good at what they do.
Thanks for the visit.

Actors are always acting whether on stage or not. If they sound sincere they acting very well indeed. Loved it.

i enjoyed both poems. I went out with an actor once, you never know where the character stops and they start sometimes...And the childrens poem is delightful!
