The Listener

A contribution to SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY.

THE LISTENER

We sat down in a shadowy spot and had a little chat.
We talked of this and the other, we even talked of that.
We drank our cups of coffee and we put the world to rights.
We spoke of married couples who are having awful fights;
We laughed about, well, you-know-who who wears such awful clothes.
We talked about a lot of things not everybody knows.
And, when she'd gone, I looked around and, as the picture's shown,
'Someone' had been listening! We hadn't been alone!

(Can't see the interloper? Well, let me quickly say,
A quick flick with a duster would have sent him on his way!)

Great ending, and isn't it always so: we hope our conversations are private!

Lovely little nook for a quiet chat in the shadows, in spite of the lurking spider web!

Great photo!
