Follow the Leader

SUNDAY SCRIBBLINGS suggests FOLLOW as a topic this week.

FOLLOW THE LEADER

See my grandsons stepping out.
One's the leader without a doubt.
Harry, so very sure and steady;
Max a toddler, a mite unready.
The future seems to lie ahead
With Max to follow Harry's tread.
But will things change as years go on
And these lovely 'baby' days have gone?
When they're grown-up will they find
That Harry's the one who walks behind?
Oh to be around and see
How the future years will be!

I'm sure it will be a tag-team game of follow-the-leader for the rest of their lives.

Lovely thoughts! Hope we're all around to see. Life is precious!

Well, I've got 7 children, mostly grown up now. This touched me.

It is strange how that procession does sometimes change in later years. Always enjoy your poetry!

you never cease to wow me with your ability to put out such great verses - you have a great gift for sure --- i look at pictures of the "little" me and there's just no hint what life has brought as i've gone along - it's a good thing that we don't know what time and life have in store when we see the innocence of youth - i fear it would forever break hearts -

Another great poem. Yes, it will be interesting to see whether the leader/follower positions change with time.Really enjoyed the poem and accompanying photo.
