Dorrigo Blue

DORRIGO BLUE

So our mountains are quite tiny but what a vivid blue!
The eucalyptus oil ensures they retain their lovely hue.
And when we're amid the splendour of the glorious countryside,
We feel so elevated that we're 'on a high' with pride!
Climb up and up to Dorrigo, a charming little town,
Then swoop to the Pacific, down and down and down,
Through peaceful farms and woodland till we find the endless sea.
And then you'll find that you have lived an Australian fantasy!

Dorrigo Plateau climbs to over 1500 metres with panoramic views across the mountains, over the Bellinger Valley and along Coffs Coast. Still within an easy drive of Bellingen, Urunga or Coffs Harbour, this World Heritage Area is a must for any nature-lover or adventure-seeker. It lies two hours North of Newcastle. Dorrigo National Park encompasses one of Australia’s most accessible and magnificent stands of lush rainforests with a series of spectacular waterfalls and abundant bird life. First protected over 100 years ago, and now part of the World Heritage Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, the park features the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre and Skywalk.

The Gumbayngirr Aboriginal people refer to the Dorrigo region as "the road home, the spirit place" and say they "feel a connection with the creator" there. Anyone who visits this special part of the world will see why.

This is the skywalk from which I took my photograph.

A great place in a photo. Travel within the sentiments of people will wake up. You must be lucky to have seen there. Clean air, green everywhere ...

Love the poem and the place. I had the best massage while staying in nearby Bellingen.
