Blue Modesty!

I invite you to view my prose blog

Sydney boasts an Art Display
Called 'Sculpture by the Sea.'
It's held in Springtime every year
And there is no entrance fee.
Sculptors display their latest work
Out there on the open sand.
Critics stand there marvelling
Or trying to understand!
This little chap's a sculpture!
No wonder he looks quite glum!
Stuck out there for a fortnight
When he should be home with Mum.
At first he was completely nude,
With everything revealed;
But local 'wowzers' took the view
That his 'bits' should be concealed!
So someone found some swimmers
And found they fitted too!
And so that I could write this rhyme
They made sure that they were BLUE!

I admire the sort of person who takes a stand and dares,
Dares to state an opinion about her world's affairs.
She looks an ordinary girl, not an exhibitionist,
But one so moved by the way things are that she dares to shake a fist!
Her placard's the green of the Irish, and the green of Iranians, too;
It stands for personal freedom, whatever the powerful do.
She dared to face a camera to get the result she craved.
But what has happened to her since?
I hope she has been saved.

Very nice. The first so darling, the second so concerning. I hope they are both just fine.

I'm so glad that the sculpture's bits and pieces were covered by that blue suit.

Happy Blue Monday, Brenda!

I always enjoy visiting your blog. That little boy is a hoot, and the person crying for democracy is moving.

Happy Blue Monday...
