Margaret's Sunrise

My friend Margaret Gosden took this lovely shot of a New York sunrise.

WRITTEN FOR SKYWATCH

MARGARET'S SUNRISE

Ice-cold crucible, freezing flames,

Heat presaging cold,

A city's winter sunrise

A dream in molten gold.

WRITTEN FOR PINK SATURDAY

PINK CHRISTMAS

Heigh ho for the green and red

And the mistletoe overhead.

Heigh ho for Santa's white,

With the red, a cheerful sight.

Heigh ho for the rich green holly,

Making wreaths look jolly.

Red and white and green,

Everywhere they're seen.

I look for a touch of pink.

Come on, girls, what do you think?

PS
We had our Street Party yesterday evening. We're lucky that we have a mini-park dividing our street (it was a railway line in years gone by) so it's a good place for a party. We're all convivial once a year and then I don't see some of them till next Christmas.
Almost like a picnic.
Two gorgeous young people Daniel and Danielle have just moved to the street.

I left a bit early as I was being eaten alive by mozzies!

Well said and beautiful - thank you! It is always a
pleasure to get a comment, but to get a poem, to
have inspired a rime such as this, makes endeavouring to make a good photo very worthwhile!

I enjoy your posts. I love the poem you wrote for ABC Wed. There wasn't a comment link for that post so I'm commenting here. Carver, ABC Wed. Team
