CANDLES
Nothing unites us with times gone by
Like the glow of candle light.
We're gentled away to a land of dreams
In an enveloping night.
Electric light is brash and harsh ;
It shows up every line;
Faces are softened and beautified
When the candles shine.

ZOOMETRY
We climb up on the bathroom scales
And either smile or frown.
We grow up in our youthful days
And in old age we grow down!
All human-beings are measured
Right from the moment of birth.
But there are other creatures
Living on this fair earth.
Imagine a lion roaring,
Imagine a wriggling snake,
Imagine even a skittish cat,
Giving itself a shake!
If you practice zoometry,
Measuring living creatures,
Being very careful
Is one of the salient features!
