The Nippers have a uniform; it's yellow and it's blue,
Reflecting waves and sunshine, which is what it aught to do.
Future Life-Savers practise skills in the sea and on the sand,
And here's Blake in a relay race with a small stick in his hand.
This photo clearly shows the speed, it also shows the fun.
It's an ideal way for children to enjoy the sand and sun.
Though Blake enjoyed the racing and he still runs very fast,
The attraction of the ocean soon faded in the past.
These days Blake is swimming in the local swimming-pool
And being a Little Nipper no longer seems so 'cool'.
So this is a memento of a happy time that's gone,
Before Blake left the Nippers and, as happens, just moved on.
But guess what! Cousin Harry has become a Nipper now!
He's five so the tradition's in the family, anyhow.
A shot from an earlier time here:
What a fun blue!
My first BM entry
Time rolls on and kids change but blue memories remain! Love it! Enjoy your BLUE MONDAY and be sure to come visit when you have a minute!
Blake was a cute one in that blue suit; I'll bet he's a looker now. Happy blue Monday.
It looks like great fun..how warm that sunshine and sand seem to be. Happy Blue Monday.
Blue kid nice one. Happy blue Monday.
What a cute poem and an adorable boy! AND I love the term "nippers." LOL! It's perfect. I will have to remember that for my godchildren. Typically, I call them munchkins, but nippers might be my new favorite.
Happy Blue Monday...
This is interesting and as well as informative. I learn so much from bloggers around the world. Truly enjoyed your post.
So Blake has passed the baton to Harry :-). Your photo is wonderful and you were able to perfectly capture his motion. It's a perfect photo for Blue Monday.
It looks like so much fun!!
Happy BM :)
Little nippers are replaced by other little nippers. And so it goes.
It sure is a fun game. Too bad summer is over.
