Treasure Trove?

SUNDAY SCRIBBLINGS
THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPH

TREASURE TROVE?

It all depends on your disposition!
*
The junk remains in the same condition!
Just a pile of this and that;
A kettle, a lamp-shade, an old rug mat,
A baseball cap, a rickety shelf,
One lonely cup all by itself,
A picture-frame all worn and scratched,
Two wheels, unfortunately, mis-matched,
A Christmas tree that's past it's best,
A cuckoo clock......and all the rest.
*
Here comes Arthur. He will find
Rubbish of each and every kind;
Things that are broken, tattered, split.
A 'fragment' is, to him, a 'bit'.
He'll grumble as he walks around.
That bargain piece cannot be found.
'Why do I bother!' he will say.
'Just junk that people throw away!'
Decay for him lies all around,
Because a bargain can't be found!
*
But here comes Archie; he's alert
To something more than junk and dirt.
Almost everything he spies
Is something wonderful in disguise!
If he sees some broken pottery
He thinks 'Mosaic! I've won the lottery!'
He sees an old tyre! In a minute,
He thinks of roses planted in it!
*

It all depends on your disposition!
The junk remains in the same condition!
