Where has it gone? That fading year?
It's said goodbye, that is very clear.
Are we still living where we were?
Has some scandal caused a stir?
Are you friends again with Sue?
Has one grandchild become two?
Are a few more wrinkles on your face?
All I know is the wretched pace
Is picking-up a fearful speed!
So much to do! So much to read!
So much to hope for and to fear!
Think I'll have another go next year!
This time last year here:
See tomorrow's blog to welcome 2010.
I'm ready to eXit 2009. Good choice.
I agree! Kind of like Scarlet O'Hara in "Gone With the Wind"...I'll worry about it tomorrow!
all the best for a splendid 2010!
Yep, same for me! Ready to exit 2009 and everything else I'll worry about tomorrow! Fun post and words as always Brenda! Wishing you a very Happy New Year!!
Ready to bid goodbye to 2009 too. Happy New year!
Love the eXit choice. I am so ready for a new 2010....
I want to wish you the very best healthy and Happy New Year.
I'm new to your blog, Wrinkly. I love the fact that you're blogging despite the wrinkles. I love the democracy of the blog world.
It's good to meet you, a fellow Australian and to read your rhymes.
Very good for X! Are you ready for 2010?
I love your poem to exit 2009, quite witty and entertaining indeed. May you have a wonderful New Year : )
This reminded me of the fact that I'll be LX in MMX.
Happy New Year!
Good poem to end the year, but most importantly to begin the new one.
Happy 2010 from the Netherlands
Hello there Brenda/Rinkly (not sure which you prefer to be called!).
Thanks for your lovely comment over at mine- the sleigh was really easy to make, just from a mould. Maybe I shouldn't have said that, and kept you thinking I was really talented!
Happy New Year, and I hope 2010 is really good to you in every way.
Great little poem. I wish you all the best in 2010! Thank you for visiting my photoblog and your nice comment. =)
Yes, too fast the years do pass. When we were young they went so slow, we couldn't wait to be grown.
Now we yell "stop, slow down, I've much left undone and there is so little time left".
Wishing you a Happy 2010. Your poem surely tells the speed of time and life.
Let us hope for a better 2010 for us all. Happy New Year.
Every year I wonder the same thing. I do know I've added a few more wrinkles this year:)
Thanks for visiting me, Brenda; you're welcome to write a poem about anything that might inspire you on my blog. It's always a treat to read your poetry! And that's a pretty amazing photo on your newest post--rain had to be a welcome relief.
Love your X poem!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year - it's already 2010 in Australia so 2009 has eXited.
