Pink Panther

PINK SATURDAY

PINK PANTHER

A day for remembering pink.
Blake Edwards lives no more.
He has taken his leave of us
And gone out through the 'Exit' door.
But the 'Pink Panther' lives for ever,
Product of a fertile mind.
Like Peter Sellers before you,
You leave a space behind.

HICCUP!

The shadow of a vine
Looking rather fine
But I'd been drinking wine!
Hiccup!
We'd been tasting different brands
Holding glasses in our hands.
Wines from distant foreign lands.
Hiccup!
Wine-tasting on a spree.
My giddy friends and me;
Now what's this I can see?
Hiccup!
Is there one vine or two?
Is the shadow false or true?
How I do wish that I knew!
Hiccup!

Happy Pink Saturday, Brenda. I am so glad you joined us today.

Your verses are magical. I first thought of the Pink Panther when I read of Blake Edwards passing, too. It will live on forever as a wonderful magic escape.

Hiccup, I was supposed to spit it out but I didn't no doubt, first they told us to smell the bouquet, but what should I say - hiccup; swirl if around in the glass but alas I swallowed -- hiccup, what else do you do at a wine tasting test but leave with a buss at best hiccup, so that is what I nevertheless did. Thanks for your poem and stirring me on. Terri www.morningdewdrops.typepad.com
