Downhill Run

MOTION THURSDAY

DOWNHILL RUN

Max was two last winter
And running was a thrill,
Especially when he'd toiled and toiled
Climbing up the hill.
He's not racing anybody;
His is a private race.
But have you ever seen such joy
On another human face?

Loved the picture of Max.. He looks like a sprinter off the starting blocks.

And life's lesson you've said....

Life is a private race... One tries to excel one's own achievements.

This is your grandson, Max, mentioned in the sidebar? He's a happy looking child.

lovely write...one would always find utmost Jjy in what one loves to do personally, rather than doing as others in the world do...

Is there a single moment we can point to, the one where we stop doing what brings us unabashed joy and begin doing what pleases others more?

Ah, the joy of youth.

I love those private races that speak of a very deep, meaningful personal victory.

I continue to marvel at the joys seen in children, who have such unabashed happiness. It makes me wonder what happens in our older age and how we can regain this again. Ah, to be a child again. :o()

Hi Rinky, I like your rendition for my OSI prompt, 'running.' Thank you.

That grandson, Max, is doing his best for Grandma. I predict he always will.

Such a happy poem, and so appropriate for the (hopefully soon-coming) spring!
