I came to a Water Garden,
Which had water-lilies on sale,
And I suddenly noticed dragons
Built to a very small scale.
They were wallowing under a fountain
Brushing water from their eyes,
And the sight of those sweet little dragons
Was a very pleasant surprise.
The rocks were gnarled and slippery;
The water richly green.
There was quite an air of fairyland
About the gentle scene
Wonderful dragons and rhyme!
That's an interesting one. Is that a public park or a private garden?

The dragons are very cute, what a neat critter to add to the water garden.

Looks like a very lovely spot to visit and what a delight to see the dragons. Love the rhyme.
Definitely delightful dragons!
What a cute rhyme to go with these little dragons and fountain. What a nice surprise for us too!
Cute dragons! My favourite is the one I almost missed - coming out of the rocks above the others! Such a fanciful fountain!
what a cool fountain, i like the dragons -and the poem too!
nice picture and the dragons are perfect touch. Thanks for dropping by This Blog Of Mine I appreciate your efforts and comment anytime.
It never occurred to me that dragons could be sweet, but these defintely are. I love the rhyme, too.i
Cute and sweet; who'd have thought so?
On behalf of the ABC Wednesday team, thank you!
What a precious site to come across. Your lyrics went perfectly with the photo! Well done! ~karen
Definitely an air of fairyland about it! So pretty! It would be fun to have such a fountain for my goldfish, I think!
lovely, I really enjoyed that! I liked the scene (photo) that inspired you too :)
Lovely evocative writing!
Enjoyed the picture and the poem. They complement each other nicely.
Love the gentle rhythm to this piece!
Very artistic writing. When you tell someone about an experience you don't want to just tell them what was there, you also want to recreate the feeling of that scene. In this way your poem was almost clearer a picture than the photograph. The photograph wasn't really interesting to me until you recreated the experience for me and then there was a connection. Excellent writing, thanks for writing this.
...and an air of fairyland about your rhyme. I enjoyed it.
Those dragons looked almost human with the one on the right appearing to bathe himself.
Another fine rhyme, as was expected!
This poem paints a lovely day out and a vivid scene.
That was a sweet, old fashioned fairy tale rhyme. How could I not love that?
LOVE your poem and picture. Where was it taken, Hunter Valley Gardens? I love it there and am planning to return.
I love things with dragons in!
