Airborne!

                                                                                                 Brenda Bryant

MOTION THURSDAY
http://motionthursday.wordpress.com/
AIRBORNE!

Nobody born in 1931
Ever knew that bouncing about was fun!
Maybe they'd bounce on the bed, but not too high
Hoping that all the feathers wouldn't fly!
Maybe they hopped in puddles in the rain
Or jumped like jack-in-the-boxes. now and again.
But bouncing like a ball they never knew;
They never saw what trampolines could do!
We who were born in 1931
Missed out on a lot of trampolining fun.
Trampolining! Exercise and art!
Pity that I'm a bit too old to start!

The Blur

MOTION THURSDAY

THE BLUR

No movement of wing, or feather.
Suspended inanimate in the hurtling blue.
Only the blur tells the tale.

Full House!

MOTION THURSDAY
http://motionthursday.wordpress.com/

FULL HOUSE!

Full house on the trampoline!
Not much room in between!
Bouncing, jumping, sprawling, leaning!
Every type of trampolining!
Little Harry's not too sure
What a trampoline is for!
Blake is giggling fit to bust!
No wonder that he bit the dust!
Brian's too large, and that's a fact,
But Brian's always action-packed!
As for Mike, he's having fun
Joining-in with everyone!
All I could do was stand and laugh
And quickly take a photograph!

Downhill Run

MOTION THURSDAY

DOWNHILL RUN

Max was two last winter
And running was a thrill,
Especially when he'd toiled and toiled
Climbing up the hill.
He's not racing anybody;
His is a private race.
But have you ever seen such joy
On another human face?

Frolic

Brenda Bryant

MOTION
THURSDAY

FROLIC!

When the scene is so bucolic
Everyone is bound to frolic!
In he goes (he's not too brave!)
And he gets knocked over by the very first wave!
I didn't catch the frothing fall,
The rogue wave pounding over all,
But I think I caught the shocked expression!
He says he enjoyed his ocean session!
Out from England, not an Aussie,
He wasn't quite a Life Guard, was he!
But he's coming back next year.
To be attacked by sharks? No fear!
*
(OK! Bucolic is a word,
Seldom written, seldom heard,
That appertains to the countryside!
So some may say I sort of lied!
But the weather then was such perfection
My verbiage went in that direction.
Take it or leave it! Don't be picky!
Rhyming words is often tricky!
Can you put on a better show?
Time for the news now! I must go!)
:-)

High Flier

MOTION THURSDAY
http://motionthursday.wordpress.com/2010/01/14/raven-circling/
HIGH FLIER!

Who'd have thought a child like me,
Who's only little, only three,
Could jump as high as the tallest tree!
It proves I'm very clever!
To bounce myself so very high!
As high as birds that are flying by!
I'm 'like a diamond in the sky'!
And I will shine for ever!

In Passing

MOTION THURSDAY

http://motionthursday.wordpress.com/

IN PASSING!

Motion photography! There's a thought!
I much prefer the other sort.
Objects in their proper places;
Fixed smiles on familiar faces.
Lots of cajoling .'Smile! Please smile!'
A rather prim and proper style.
Should I ever get a movement
(Not considered an improvement!)
I'd view the shot upon completion
And quickly click the word 'deletion'!
Motion pictures look so clever
But am I capable? No! Never!
But when I aimed at Liz and Mike,
(Two of Malcolm's friends I like)
I didn't notice passers-by;
They simply didn't catch my eye!
What a surprise then, the result!
It almost made my heart exult!
Motion photography from me!
I'm a photographer! Finally!
