Old Timbers

OLD TIMBERS

Old Man Pelican drifting by
Hears the timbers creaking,
Seems they're singing a lullaby;
Seems he hears them speaking.
Speaking of days in the wind and sun
And the ships that have passed that way.
Dreaming of times that are dead and done,
As the timbers creak and sway.

Adore the nostalgia in your poem to complement the lovely photo!

I love the poem that you wrote for this lovely photo!

Now that I think of it, I think this is the first photo I've seen of a pelican actually in the water instead of on the shore.

Wishing you a happy weekend, Brenda!

Beautiful post! Perfect words to accompany the photo. I love white pelicans, we don't get to see too many of them here, only when they are migrating. Kathy

And by himself Brenda. The lone bird works quite well as do your words.
