Spring-Shine

September. Municipal Gardens. New South Wales.

THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPH
'SHINY'

SPRING-SHINE!
Keep your snow-fields! Keep your ice!
Though they may look very nice,
I recall they made me freeze;
So they didn't always please!
Waking up to snow-white glory,
Snow all pristine, ice all hoary,
Proved to be a bit ho-hum
When my nose was turning numb!
In any case, the glory faded!
Slush and drizzle left me jaded.
It was picture-postcard pretty,
But there were downsides, more's the pity.
Here you see our Springtime 'snow',
Bright and shiny all a'glow.
True, you'll never see us ski,
But this is snow enough for me!

All the misery of it here:

Lovely poetry! Here I will paraphrase what a friend of mine said "I put flowers everywhere to remind me to be happy even if I am sad inside I can still smile." She has Spring Shine everyday! Simply divine post!

I hope the red dust is not ruining the beauty of these flowers.

We even got a dusting on my cars here in New Zealand.

Bright and beautiful!
Seeing spring flowers makes me feel a little like the first time I went snorkeling. I couldn't believe that my face was in the water and I could breath . . . and my northeast US brain can't wrap itself around Spring!

It's always nice to realize that there is spring somewhere on Earth! Great poem!
