I SAW SUNDAY
asks us to describe part of our week
SPRING SERENADE
Summer arrived last Tuesday; it's Winter again today!
The Choir sang at a Retirement Home, way up Cessnock way.
The trees were budding nicely and the cottages were sweet.
And here's the Choir before the show having tea and a bite to eat.

POETRY TOW TRUCK
suggests something based on a circle
MANDALA
The sacred circle, aid to meditation.
The unseeable becoming seen.
Meditate upon it and become whole.
Quote
"Drawing or creating a Mandala (a Sanskrit word meaning sacred circle) is a meditative art which reflect our consciousness through symbolic patterns - making our inner spiritual essence visible. In religious and pyschotherapeutic traditions worldwide, mandalas are created to help the process of wholeness, healing and spiritual transformation"

Those chairs provided for the choir — I swear the exact same chairs were (and probably still are) used in the care facility where Mom and Dad lived, on the other side of the world.

Love that mandala, and agree they are always worth gazing at long and hard...
Delightful post, Rinkly. We often have 4 seasons in a day here, too. They say that if you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes!
"The cottages were sweet" I love that! Tis sweet of the choir to sing at the retirement home. Mandala is fascinating. I wish I could have more free time to explore that.
Love the picture of the choir having tea!
A lovely post. I would loved to have heard the choir sing, it is a shame we haven't got sound. :-)
Thanks for sharing this with I Saw Sunday. x
It must be your Spring - the blossom just bursting.
The mandala is inviting (I meditate most days). The great 'rose window' of York Minster is rather mandala in form.
I read that archeologists found the camps of the Aryans, by the Caspian Sea, to be Mandala in form. Perhaps they brought the idea to India when they migrated there c 1500 BCE.
I like the scarves that give the choir a common identity but allow the wearers freedom in the rest of the clothes they wear.
Singing is good for the soul of the singer and the listener. So too is active meditation. Creating mandalas has long been an interest of mine and I can and do get lost in the process. It does refuel a lagging spirit,
