WISH GRANTED

Agatha  was a keen gardener and very odd dresser. She wore pedal-pushers, crazy hats and clashing colours. He garden was brilliantly colourful in summer, and she supplied everyone with vegetables. ' I hope I never leave here' she said. She died in the garden, pulling up carrots, and her friends said 'She got her wish.' As her neighbours drifted home after the wake, they were amazed to see, in Agatha's garden, a brand new floral edifice! There was Agatha,  floral hat, pantaloons, the lot! And a great red heart took pride of place. 'Agatha has come home' they said. (100 words)

DISSECTION!

Somewhere there is a schoolboy.
*
He has been asked to dissect an angle.
He chews his pencil.
He frowns.
He gazes out of the window.
*
And there it is!
Not an angle
But definitely a
Dissection!
*
His mind fills with
Geometric phrases.
Surely it is possible to
Dissect a curve!
*
Quadrilateral.
Equilateral.
Parabola!
Suddenly the words are beautiful.
*
But not so beautiful that they can
Stop him from reciting
Even more beautiful words.
*
Such as
Escape,
Wind,
Clouds,
Beach,
And sky;
Definitely
Sky.
*
He fails Geometry.

There should be lots of Agathas in gardens across the world - and her male counterpart. Wouldn't that be lovely?
