Crash!

THREE WORD WEDNESDAY
http://www.threewordwednesday.com/2011/08/3ww-ccliv.html
'mute, gasp, viable'

CRASH!
(A totally true tale!)

Did I gasp? Or was I mute?
What was preventing a compute?
My machine, always reliable,
Was now, it seemed no longer viable!
For two days I've remain 'un-blogged!'
Modern technology should be flogged!
'The Man' came round and pronounced it dead!
I almost had to take to my bed!
He ripped things out, he plugged things in!
Would we lose or would we win?
He declared the laptop could be converted
So that work could be diverted.
It's worked, but I feel all at sea.
Poor old uneducated me!
Some things are missing; some things have gone;
How am I going to carry on?
The Three Words are exactly right
To describe my mute and gasping plight!

RIPENING TOMATOES
(An Acrostic)

Red is the colour we aim for
It's the colour that we're meant to be.
Picture us rosy and ripened
Exactly the shade you should see.
Now imagine you're sinking your white teeth
In the flesh which is juicy and sweet
No apple or orange can beat us!
Get us ready and ripened to eat!
*
There are those who prefer a potato
Or a carrot or parsnip or peach.
Many more like us put in a salad
At a barbecue or on the beach.
Tell your friends we are here in the garden
Out here getting plenty of sun.
Every day we grow redder and redder
So eating us will be great fun!

I know how you feel! I had a hard drive crash last week on my laptop bought only in March. So much data. Anyway, the techs were able to get everything off, thank god. I now have a new hard drive. I am going to install "Carbonite." Check it out.

We rely on computers so much these days we take them for granted. It can be really scary when one of them funks out on us.
Enjoyed the acrostic.
