Tricky!

TRICKY!

It means a lot, yet it says nothing; it's meaningless, or says it all.
It only gains a meaning if it's pinned upon a wall.
Then 'here' becomes a certainty, because it's meaning's fixed.
Not, as if carried in a purse, it's meaning was quite mixed.
'Here', when it's mobile, is changeable, altering from place to place;
If I phoned and said "I'll meet you 'here"', I'd be very hard to trace,
Unless I added 'At number three' or something equally clear.
If I said it when riding on a bus what would be the meaning of 'here'?.
Then there's 'you', a nameless person, without a personality;
Only when I read the word does it take on some formality.
Then I know who the 'you' is, because I know it's me;
But who knows who the next  'you' will soon turn out to be?
I'm happy with the middle word 'are'; that doesn't cause me worry.
(But if I want this 'you' to be 'there' I'd better stop writing and hurry!)

SURE SIGNS

Spring blossoms at The Junction;
A very welcome sight.
Fulfilling a useful function;
Making the world more bright.

Your poem for "you are here" made me grin. Lovely way to begin a (too-early) Monday morning.
