Silver Tails

SILVER TAILS

When your hair has turned to silver
And the summer breezes blow
Off you float on the summer air!
What a way to go!
Glinting in the sunbeams,
Fading out of sight,
Twinkling, even as you fade
Into never-ending night.

JOY FLIGHT!

We went on a joy-flight one fine day,
My birthday as I recall.
We said we'd fly over Nelson Bay
So we could see it all.
We swooped up into a dazzling blue,
Happy to be on high,
Heading for the Peninsula
To view it from the sky.
A place of scenic beauty,
With hills and woods and bays,
And other charming landmarks,
We were hoping would amaze.
Then we heard the pilot's voice
'When I'm looking up ahead
I see storm clouds over Nelson Bay;
We'll just go home instead.'
So here see the clouds a-rolling in,
Spoil-sports everyone,
Waiting for my birthday
So they could spoil the fun.

What a great idea for a birthday, even though it got cut short.

'Silver tails' is a lovely phrase. What a shame about the Joy Flight - another day, perhaps. Fabulous cloud photo, though.
