Helicopter Happenings!

HELICOPTER HAPPENINGS!

If I had a helicopter whom would I invite
To hover round the sky with me at a quite horrendous height?
I wouldn't ask a hippo for he'd be too huge and fat
And I wouldn't ask a humpback whale for it would squash me flat!
A hartebeest would speak a language that would be obscure
And a hawk would peck my hand and then we'd hurtle down for sure!
A harp-seal would be gentle but would make a heap of mess
And a hermit crab might nip me when it hopped inside my dress.
A hedgehog might get friendly and then scratch me on the knee
And a heron might see fish and then dive down into the sea.
A harvest mouse might be quite sweet but tickle me to death;
A hyena's laugh, hilarious, would take away my breath.
A horse might kick its heels up and destroy the fuselage
And a howler monkey has a voice that's, hopelessly, too large.
No, I think I'll choose a humming-bird; it's small and rather sweet,
And a humming-bird hamburger could be a hearty treat!

In case anyone wants to, you really SHOULD go to the Bits & Bobs to read "Here's Lookin' at you, Kid." Absolutely priceless!

Meant to say that no I'm sorry I don't know your friend Felicity. I might know her by sight as Ramsey is as you say a small town but the name doesn't ring a bell at all...

Hi Brenda, Thanks for the visit and movie suggestion. I've heard of the movie "the Fastest Indian" and had heard from friends that it was very good... but had forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder - trip to video store in my near future. Have a great rest of the week! Cindy

Hilarious hijinx! : D

Loved the rollicking poem. I went back and read it aloud, for all good poetry should be read aloud, don't you think?

They should change the old-rhymes taught in school to the ones you write... the rhythm and the meaning is captivating..!!!
