Winter Walking

Looking towards Bar Beach. NSW.

SCENIC SUNDAY

WINTER WALKING

Who cares if the air is chilly?
There's a brightness in the sun.
Who cares if the road is hilly?
It's the same for everyone.
In winter the sun is lower
And we walk to a brisker beat.
In summer our steps are slower
As we wilt in the blazing heat.
In summer we'll take to the beaches
And soak ourselves in the sea.
Long experience teaches
That here is the place to be.

HAIL TO THEE!

Hail to Thee, thou  Puny One!
Thy light supports us all.
Thou seemest to be a colossal thing,
A great round  fiery ball!
But cast thine eye upon the earth,
View the diagram below!
Thou lookest to be a paltry thing
(And we don't even show!)
For centuries we've bowed before
Thy flaming majesty!
But if it's true you're puny,
What on earth are we!

PS
We gave Harry his birthday present today.....some money and a frisbie. I tried to get a good shot of him catching or throwing it, but the best one is spoilt by the trees.

I think the gift was  a success, even if the photography wasn't!

Enjoyed your photos, poetry and commentary. Guess this is the closest I'll ever get to Australia, though bro. enjoyed Perth during WWII.

I am too cold and lazy. Last night, my sole was so itchy, until I got out of bed and wore a knitted slipper.
