Sentinel

WATERY WEDNESDAY
http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com/

SENTINEL!

How many waves has it witnessed!
How many storms at sea
Since the days it was erected
Way back in '43?
For sure 'the Japs were coming',
And radar was a boon,
All that modern technology
Couldn't come too soon!
Now it's just derelict concrete
Watching the passing show,
And, who knows, maybe remembering
Exciting days long ago!
A romantic memory of the same period here:

True... the sentinel must be reminiscing the action days.

Was watching some time back a documentary about world war...and how the Germans were puzzled that the exact number of aircrafts prowling in the air, was accurately determined by the British. Radar was then an invention not known to the Germans, it seems.
