ONE SINGLE IMPRESSION
The only woolly mammoth in the whole world was discovered
And the news came that the beast had been destroyed.
All the newsmen were delighted with this hot, newsworthy item;
In fact it seems that they were overjoyed!
They rushed into the jungle to get photographs and copy
And there they saw the great beast lying dead
While beside it, quite triumphant, stood a skinny little fellow
Whose name they shortly ascertained, was Fred.
'But Fred!' they said 'You're tiny and you haven't any muscles!
You're not as tall as this small flowering shrub!
Tell us how you did it!' And Fred happily responded
'That's simple! I just killed it with my club!'
'You're club must be tremendous!' said the newsmen, looking shattered;
' Was it really just your great big club and you?'
'Well, it's not that big' said Fred at last 'The membership's not great.
About a hundred, give or take a few'.

Nifty take on the prompt - it makes a chuckle here and a 'could a been' thought!
Wonderful change of pace! It reminds me so much of Carroll. Great humor.
