Golden Wattle

MY WORLD

GOLDEN WATTLE

Some call it Mimosa, we call it Wattle here.
It's always the first harbinger of the Springtime of the year.
While the winds are whipping up a storm and the skies are, maybe, grey
It adds a touch of glory-gold to a gloomy winters day.
Some may have their cherry Blossom, some their Daffodils
To herald future sunshine while the winter wind still chills,
But we rejoice in Wattle, such a pleasure to behold,
Dotting the hills of New South Wales with bubbles of pure gold.

What a lovely harbinger of spring! What we call mimosa here has pink blooms and blooms more in the summer.

I am sorry if I missed it,but I could not find your link back to the My World site. When you link from there, please be so kind to link back.

Thanks for sharing your wattle!!

Your spring is already golden with that lovely wattle. I am waiting for the purple of the jacarandas which are just - just starting to flower.

What gorgeous colours! Of course, the trees over here are starting to turn that colour, too, but because winter's coming on. I'm so envious that you're glorious display marks spring coming in when we've got a few months of cold and wet to 'look forward' to. Thanks for sharing, and brightening up this dull day.
