Jumboism

ABC WEDNESDAY

JUMBOISM

If you've a predilection,
Or lean in that direction,
To anything that's really, really large;
If you like the largest slices,
Or you pay the hugest prices,
Then you are jumboistic! That's my charge.
If your dog is huge and shaggy
And your pants are large and baggy,
And your car wont fit in any small garage
And your hamburger's gigantic
And small helpings drive you frantic,
Then you are jumboistic! That's my charge.
If you think to reach the ceiling
Is something quite appealing
And your paddle-boat resembles a great barge.
If your every thingamajig
Is big, big BIG
Then you are jumboistic! That's my charge.

OUBLIETTE
(An Acrostic)

Open only at the top!
Up above see the awful drop!
Beneath lies death without a doubt!
Let no-one try to get you out!
If you crash on rocks and stones
Ending -up with broken bones
Truly no-one will bring you aid.
There you'll lie till memories fade!
Eternity will find you yet
Imprisoned in the oubliette.

First poem very revealing -- revealed that I am not jumboistic. Definitely more on the indistinguishable side.

Oh, very clever...I loved both poems, and do hope the trend toward jumboism
eases up sometime soon...:)
