The Wordle
THE SUNDAY WHIRL
asks us to use the words in the Wordle
YOU DON'T KNOW ME BUT........
You don't know me but I know you.
I am keeping you in view.
My planet once was just like yours;
Beautiful but, oh the flaws!
Once it twirled in space on high
'Like a diamond in the sky'.
Like yours it was a spark in time,
Fleeting but, we thought, sublime.
With mindless smiles we thoughtlessly
Enjoyed its trees, its shining sea.
Then as time was growing older,
Our concerns began to smoulder;
Would we be drowned or trapped in ice?
Well, we discussed it once or twice.
But silence finally held sway;
Oblivious we sailed on our way.
When the ruin finally came
And we had lost the planet game
We had to take to metal ships
Which set off on eternal trips.
Scattered, we're zooming here and there,
Through a universe that's blank and bare.
Your Earth has just come into view.
You don't know me but I know you.

A Simple Alphabet
LAKE
There was a young fellow called Jake
Who went for a row on a lake;
He stood up and he clowned
And fell in and drowned.
So that was an awful mistake!

LOL! I enjoyed your limerick and poem!
I also stopped by to congratulate you. You won an Honorable Mention in last week's Limerick-Off. Great job! Limerick of the Week 36
It rhymes and delights, yet the message is bleak. Is there no hope for us?
