Turkey

TURKEY

A farmer from wild Albuquerque
Decided to pose as a turkey
But he took quite a chance
When he did the wrong dance
And his turkey-trot proved to be jerky!

An old one for good measure.

TLEMCEN

Human lives intersect,
Sometimes disastrously.
Roadways intersect,
Sometimes disastrously.
But the intersections of architecture
Have no such drawbacks.
They never
Collide,
Argue,
Jar.
All is smooth geometry.
And the intersections,
Seen in Arabia,
Soar.
Here, in the Mosque at Tlemcen,
'Every prospect pleases'.
The arches
Intersect like a string of pearls.
The traceries of lace,
Intersect like overlapping spider-webs.
Muslim architects
Knew the secret of
Bringing together
Strength and delicacy,
Two seeming opposites.
The world now needs the magic
Of the intersection
More than ever.
Creeds,
Seeming opposites,
Could
Intersect,
Interact,
Interplay,
Interlock,
To create geometric perfection.
If only......
