As you can see, this poem was written for a poster for schools, when I was working as a copywriter, after my retirement from teaching. I've re-typed it to make it easier to read.
Family Trees are enormous plants,
Sprouting with parents and uncles and aunts;
With brothers and sisters in every cranny
And, here and there, a special Granny.
Small baby cousins soon appear
For there's someone new almost every year,
And weddings may bring us new relations
Who may even come from different nations!
The roots are down in the sweet, rich earth
Of a faraway land or the land of our birth,
And the future branches will sweep the sky,
Ever more leafy and ever more high.
Someone in the future will bear my name
And maybe their features will look the same!
Oh how lucky we are to be
Part of a beautiful Family Tree!
Not such a happy family here:
Clever! Family trees did not even occur to me as a possibility!
This is nice! It could be -- should be -- on a greeting card.
The letter F is a real challenge - well done!
That was a highly original F - and important too in these times.
PS No Bluebirds to be found on my hard disks :-)
This is so lovely! My recently gathered family had ages from 5 to my own 88. It's strange to be the matriarch now, but it's a joy to see Otto's and my descendants (not all of them, of course, since some are scattered in foreign lands - Grandson Johnny in Thailand, Granddaughter Myrtle in Brazil, for instance.
You've expressed it so well in the poem. I hope you can express it in your life!
This was very nice, I began to think about my Family Tree and the Loved ones who have passed on and the new folks joining the tree.
I like that, it's so nice! I like the way you make your poetry so easy to read, with a clear meter and decent rhymes, but also full of meaning.
BTW, your link in the ABC Wed page doesn't work. You put 'rinklytimes' instead of 'rinklyrimes'.

The FAmily tree looks like an ORganisation Chart. Who's who and how they're interconnected.
Loved the subtle hint And, here and there, a special Granny.
