SUNDAY SCRIBBLINGS
Topic....'shine'.
SHADOWY-SHINE
When the sun blazes out of the cloudless blue
It almost passes us by,
But a shadowy-shine
Is a grand design;
It's an art-work in the sky.

STEPPING OUT
Off we go to the Opera House
To enjoy a morning of Coffee and Strauss.
Not quite the girls of the Chorus Line
But, though we be five, life's still benign!

Hello Rinkly - Happy Easter - I love the sepia in these images and words..that shine dosn't have to be glaring..but more silver..Jae :)
I call it a light shadow...when everything else is dark, light casts a shadow. I love the picture and poem you expressed.
Love poetry. I have a bit of a love affair myself with grey sun-peeping skies.
If science was analyzing shadowy-shine it would be long and I personally would yawn out the explanation. You painted an easy-to-understand and beautiful description.
Lovely writes!
I like that you call it an 'art work in the sky'! I really prefer it to 'skywatch' that seems to be more about the weather than about the art expressions of the sky. It reminds me of my favourite Virginia Woolf quote about the whole world being a work of art, and we are just parts of it...
a crush talent, well done.
I really must agree about the sun and the need to appreciate it's beauty in more subdued settings.
In Adelaide we have "Tea and Symphony" what a great way to enjoy classical music!
looks like a fabulous group of five! I love the sky piece as well. When my children were little and the sun would cause visible rays to shine down through clouds, they called it Jesus light :)
Both poems are very charming. :)
Your words ring so true. Sunrises, sunsets, storm clouds in the distance, a glowing moon, all a greater design!
I also love your chorus line!
Two very good poems; I rather liked the crafty pun you ended 'Stepping Out' with.
Your shine piece is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful, serene image, and your poem fits it perfectly. I really enjoyed it, thankyou x
