THE COFFEE POT
A little piece of history is remembered hereabouts.
And it concerns the old-time railway line.
That used to start at the local beach, in an industrial age,
And carry coal from Merewether Mine.
Because the tunnels were rather tight an engine was devised
That was narrower than normal, by a lot,
And this midget engine was always known by it's nick-name, yes, you've guessed,
The little engine was called the Coffee Pot.
It certainly wasn't the only one; here's another one to view;
This one pulled logs in forests way up North,
And in other parts of the country Coffee Pots are found,
Carrying the tourists back and forth.
But our little local Coffee Pot is remembered even yet,
And a local Seniors' Club now has the name,
So little piece of history is with us still today,
And, after all, it had a right to fame.

Heh, heh, the little engine that still can, wot? And loved the story of the station-master cat :D
Great post and fun photos.
Great bit of history and a cute engine! I thought you were going to post about coffee...
that indeed was interesting!
What a charming name for an engine!
I'm glad some of them are still up and running.
Delightful post and I learned something too! Who could ask for more?
Hugs and blessings,
