Sand for Sale!

SAND FOR SALE!
(From Australia)

A view across the Hunter River to Stockton over the way
And then beyond a bit to where the surfers play.
Some in the great white rolling waves, that's easy to understand,
But many on the sand-dunes. Yes, they surf on sand!

Here you see the footmarks of some who took the climb,
Toiled up and up and then surfed down, having a great old time.
*
But Stockton Sand is famous for something else as well.
The sand is a commodity, a useful thing to sell.
The sand at Stockton grows and grows, the wild sea brings it in.
The sand of Hawaii washes away; it could soon be sparse and thin.
So we sell our sand to Hawaii! Next time you're in Waikiki
Look down at the sand, my friends, and recall where it used to be!

CASH!
(An Acrostic suggested by Acrostics Only)

Coins jingling in your pocket;
Already seems they burn a hole!
Store them in a drawer and lock it!
Hope they keep you from the dole!

Didn't have a clue that you could sell sand. Lucky for Hawaii that you have sand to spare.

Lovely shots!

That's funny. I love sand dunes, they make me think of summer. I love the light on your dune photo.

Oh my goodness! So Hawaii is not completely what it appears to be? Some of it is actually Australia? It boggles my mind. :)

Guess sand washes away sometime....are you sure some of yours didn't come from Hawaii?
