The Commuter

ONE SINGLE IMPRESSION
'PENSIVE'

THE COMMUTER

Pensive, withdrawn, silent.
Listlessly lolling, unobtrusive, rocked by motion.
Rocked by emotion? Who can tell?
*
-------------------------------------------------------

TALK SHOW!
(An Acrostic)

Tut tut! Too bad! Good God! Not that!
All it takes is a bit of chat!
Lust and love and lies abound
Kiss-and-tell is often found!
*
Sudden revelations wow!
How did it happen? Tell us how!
Oh my goodness! You don't say!
What gossip will we hear today?

Hi RR ~~ I like both of these a lot!

Pensive, on it I tapped my two fingers to the 'beat' and it built up like a locomotive building up speed and steam. Try it!

You talk show acrostic is true to form for the most of them. My faves are Letterman and Regis & Kelly. Most I cannot stand.
Do you get these over in the Au?

I do like the appropriate brevity of both - so apt in the first one and the less said the better in the second one!

Love how you turned the rocking motion into emotion! I alsways feel the train carriage is filled with enforced pensive thoughts!

Talk shows? Ummmm... Not my idea of entertainment! But like your acrostic take of their features!

Like the first one, the pensive is so true...

It's rather hard to distinguish emotions on the computer. Often, it's just misinterpreted. I liked both of these! Great post!

I would say the commuter is rocked by emotion. I do my deepest thinking in vehicles. One does wonder, looking at everyone around them, what thoughts are in their head?
And talk shows...I don't really like them but I like your poem, you really captured the feelings surrounding talk shows. :)

I really liked The Commuter. It made me think of another setting which creates the same feelings - for me that would be elevators.

Thanks for your contribution to OSI. It is hard to know what a person is thinking or feeling. So easy to get it wrong. That's why we must tread carefully.

These are just great. I often look at people and wonder their story. The second is so true.

The rocking motion of trains is the perfect vehicle for pensive.
Talk Show is such a good foil for the mood you created in pensive.
Well done!

I liked both but really connected with the first. How often we look at another and wonder- really wonder what is going on inside? One of my fav sayings is "everybody has a story..." so very true!
