PHOTOGRAPHIC PHOBIA!
So how do Strangers react when you take a photograph?'.
Do they frown or sneer or turn their backs on you and laugh?
Well, my problem isn't strangers; they're usually quite O.K.
In fact, the very worst they do is quickly turn away.
But family! That's another thing. My camera is taboo!
'Not again!' they gasp and mutter when I look for something new.
This was supposed to be my son, Greg, with his Harry on his knee,
I pictured a family portrait saved for eternity.
I imagined seraphic expressions, or a warm and friendly smile,
But I soon learned co-operation isn't the family style.
Harry made a sort of attempt at a really cherubic face,
But Greg was past pretending; he really fell from grace.
So, is blood thicker than water! It seems to me it's not!
Oh well, there's always tomorrow to try for the perfect shot!

I'm with you - I get the hardest time from my own family! (Well, except for my daughter, she loves to "model", but when she does she nearly always ends up with a hand smack dab in front of her face.) Sigh...
Dear Brenda ~~ The family get to hate the sight of a camera don't they? I guess we have taken too many pics of them.
Thank you for your comment and I do hope you are right about the increased productivity after the
cost damages from these storms.
Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.
Yes, there is always one kid that wants to act up in a family group shot! So, now I take spontaneous shots when they're unaware and sometimes something unexpectedly good comes out of it, much to their
chagrin!
kids! have to love 'em, it's the law.
i am that kid in our family...smiles
Most of my family are OK with it. But I once caught an elderly man sitting with an elderly woman on a bench in the foreground of a picture I was taking of a building. The man got up and rushed over and started yelling at me. I couldn't help but wonder what had gotten him so upset. Witness protection? Senior hanky panky?
so true.
but even the not so great ones we have of our family are great in sentiment to me.
cute...my mother was like that!
