DAWN DAZZLE
When the summer's at its hottest,
When the sun's a cruel beast,
Then we favour early morning,
And the pageant from the east.
Get up early, get the gear on,
Venture out before it's light.
Feel the gentle breeze that's blowing,
Share the remnants of the night.
See the lovely silver pathway
As the sun begins to rise!
Such deceptive gentle glowing!
Such a devil in disguise!
All too soon we feel the burning,
All too soon the sun turns gold.
Home to breakfast and a shower.
The shiny tale of morning's told.

what a sweet image. see you next week.
He is so cute and so is this shot! Being on the west coast we catch the sunsets. I've always wondered what it would be like to see the sun rising over the ocean's horizon rather than setting.
so sweet, so peaceful!
Lovely!

when you enlarge the photo, you see what a wonderful expression on your grandson's face.
Great shot,

A silvery early morning sea and a little boy full of the joys of life. What could be a more perfect combination? Well if you add an enchanting poem to the picture and have some hazy boats in the horizon. That makes it even more perfect.
I can't really see many sunrises over the sea except in the winter. A lot of sunsets we get of course.
I love sunrises too...this is a beautiful photo of the sun and its reflection on the water. Sweet kid too.
Blake sure is having fun in that beautiful sunrise!
Loved the poem - nice imagery.
My Watery Wednesday post is at Carletta’s Captures.
Wonderful memory in this capture.
Wow. I'm glad I saw Gill's comment. That's a great expression, and the body language speaks wonders too. And for some reason I really enjoy the floaties.
Beautiful shot! Can be used as a poster depicting life's simple joys and beauty. Nice...
Enjoy your day!

I love this Watery Wednesday picture. I can pick up the child's joy!
Glorious photo!!
wonderful tale you have written in your poem and the picture is perfect with it~
He looks like he's really enjoying himself there. Nice!
Felt so inspired reading this poem.
Jotted in my diary to remember to catch this scene at Bay of Bengal.
(also saw the ships in the horizon with sailors brushing their teeth, in that cute pic)
Such a lovely poem! And your grandson is adorable! And those are the makings of a terrific post for the day!!
Have a great weekend, Brenda!

I love the wings! What time was that, I wonder! Evidently, before the heat heats up?
Oh, isn't this sheer bliss? What more could you ask for - a warm day, a beach, and a cute little grandson to complete the picture.
Nice picture, he's having a lot of fun! I like the poem, too.
Lovely SSS! What a sweetie with those water wings on!
Happily, the railing is up to prevent his inadvertent meeting with danger. Yet the water wings let us know he (or his grandparents) is prepared for any contingency. The littlest ones don't think about the really hot days - any day is always fine for play!
Lovely shiny morning. Marvelous pairing of word & image.
Your image elicited a huge sigh from me when I saw it. What a wonderful moment in time you captured. Priceless.
Soooo cute. Well captured :)
An absolutely beautiful photo. I love it. You captured the child perfectly. Well done!
Beautiful picture and lovely poem. I so long for the sun. It's autumn in Sweden. The sky is grey and it's raining every day. But I know that it hasn't rained in parts of Australia for many years. And you have had dreadful fires. Yes the sun can be a devil in disguise.
