Plus:Autumn Refreshment.

March in Canberra
Mrs Nesbitt quoted this poem today and I felt that I should point out that in the Southern Hemisphere things are very different, but equally refreshing!

"March bustles in on windy feet
And sweeps my doorstep and my street.
She washes and cleans with pounding rains,
March!
Scrubbing the earth of winter stains.
She shakes the grime from carpet green
Till naught but fresh new blades are seen.
Then, house in order, all neat as a pin,
She ushers gentle springtime in."

                                              - Susan Reiner, Spring Cleaning

March sweeps in with a cooling breeze
Rustling the leaves on paper-dry trees
The most glorious days of the year are these.
March.
Cooling our cheeks now summer's done.
Taking the bite from the blazing sun
Allowing the flowers to lift their heads;
New bright colours in garden beds.
The glory of Autumn now is here;
March, the loveliest month of the year.

Difficult to think of March as Autumn for a Pommie!

Not only down under but back to front!

They are both lovely poems.

I bet a lot of people in Oz will be glad to see some cooler weather. Now we'll be pleased to see some warmer days. The midgies were out in force today. Hope that's a good sign.
