LAUNDRY BLUES
Dirty laundry in a hamper, lying doggo, does no harm,
Never gives a bit of trouble: that's the secret of its charm.
Laundry blowing on a clothes-line, sparkling in the summer breeze,
Makes one feel the world's in order; every prospect seems to please.
I like laundry when it's dirty; I like laundry when it's clean.
But I feel distinctly tetchy with the bit that comes between!

At least washing machines fill the interim space between the two states of clean and dirty rather well...batter than the wash boards, dolly tubs and blue bags that my gran had to content with!
Great poem. I love it!
Yes, washing on the line is delicious........
when we lived in Morocco things would dry in 30 minutes on the roof.
Sadly, have a dryer in NY.
The book cover photo is my cousin's granddaughter.
Just needed a generic child - but was pleased with this photo!
TETCHY?
8-)
Totally agree with that.
I feel more than tetchy with the bit that comes afterwards too. I've 3 mountains on the kitchen worktop to prove it.
Bring back Crimpelene!
And all along I've been under the impression womenfolk love the wash-work too...!!!
(written with the courage that you won't see this comment for quite sometime as you're cruising around NZ and by the time you return - you'll be in such a good frame of mind - you'll forgive me :))))
Great poem! I hope you are having a wonderful winter down under.
Cute poem. Laundry is neverending! I do like hanging it on the line in the summer though.
This is so much fun! I love clean laundry right from the dryer.
Absolutely brilliant!
Good one!
=)
Hehe. Can you hear me laughing?
Cute, very cute! I love to hang my sheets and towels on a clothesline but in our neighborhood it is not allowed... What a joke!
So cute... LOL! But if YOU feel distinctly tetchy with the bit that comes between... how about those ladies in my laundry post? LOL!
fun!
Your wit and talent always makes me smile!
Lovely, lovely link!
Thank you.
