Seasons

SEASONS

There are just two weeks to Winter, the beachfront is deserted,
There are only hardy swimmers in the pool.
Yet still the sun is warm and there are no clouds in the sky,
Although the gentle breeze is blowing cool.
The days are growing shorter and the shadows elongated,
We hear of snow that's fallen in the hills;
But most people love the Winter, for it's brief and fairly gentle,
Better far than Summer heat, the Winter chills!

OLD TIMBERS
Old Man Pelican drifting by
Hears the timbers creaking,
Seems they're singing a lullaby;
He almost hears them speaking.
Speaking of days in the wind and sun
And the ships that have passed that way.
Dreaming of times that are dead and done,
As the timbers creak and sway.
