Summer Remembered

MELLOW YELLOW MONDAY

SUMMER REMEMBERED

The sun floats palely in the sky
The breeze is brisk and cool.
This picture from  last summer
Makes me positively drool!
Beside his golden ship of dreams
The lone lake-watcher views
The water stretched before him.....
As he readies for a cruise;
A cruise to far horizons
That lie across the way.
I wish that it were summer now!
It's wintry today.

REFRESHMENT

Sometimes
The round-and-roundness
Of water
Becomes more than a knowledge;
It becomes
A miracle!
As I watched this sprinkler
In a suburban garden
I imagined each drop
Having a history.
It's present is Mild
Beneficial,
Gentle,
Refreshing
And Tamed.
Yet it has waged war among the clouds,
Drifted along quiet rivers,
Gurgled through sewers,
Tossed in angry seas.
It has gushed from taps,
Lain in puddles,
Bounced off umbrellas,
Fallen as snow.
It has refreshed wild animals,
Cleansed bodies,
Filled hot water bottles
On cold winter nights.
It existed long before our species
Took hold.
It has been lifted up,
Dropped down,
Circulated
Unimaginable times.
Our own
Bodily fluids
Are part of its endless journey!
For now it is at ease
Watering a lawn.
Where next
Voyager?

I wonder what this man think about. Is he done kayaking or about to do it? But for sure he has a good time this Summer. ^_^

my bro on the Gold Coast has the same kayak. It was pleasant kayaking in a private lake.
