Winter-rain Creek

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS
http://newtowndailyphoto.blogspot.com/

WINTER-RAIN CREEK.

A creek-bed, soon to be dry.
Sympathising trees bow low in farewell.
And, on an unseen bridge, people watching and waiting.

ONE CHAIR.

One chair on a balcony.
A chair with a view.
Yet there is no viewer.
Is she inside in the gloom,
Afraid to come out?
Does she fear the world,
Only glimpsing it, briefly,
When she dares to sit out on her chair
After dark,
When no-one can see her?
Does she watch the laughing throng
Passing beneath her feet
With envy
Or distaste?
Does that reckless mixing of bodies
Attract or scare her?
Is she in there right now
Reading 'Pride and Prejudice',
And waiting for Mr D'Arcy?
Will he ever break in
Through those bland blinds
And love her?
I shall watch and wait.
And when I see two chairs on the balcony
I shall breathe a sight of relief.

What marvellous thoughts and words to accompany these pictures. My brain never thinks so imaginatively so to read your posts is a joy.

My grandpa used to sit in the balcony, looking at cars and funeral corteges.
