Morning Glory

MONOCHROME WEEKEND
MORNING GLORY

The flood comes up from the river.
The flood of clear light.
The flood that will engulf us in sunshine

THE COLONNADE OF TIME

We move along a colonnade.
Sometimes we are in shadow.
Sometimes the full sun
Blazes on us
And illuminates our path.
*
We look out between the columns
To see others perambulating.
Some may run, some may dawdle,
Some may falter and
Some may fall.
*
We wave to them
But we can never know them
Because we do not really
Know ourselves.
*
We look back and see ourselves
Pint-sized,
Starting out.
*
We look forward and see.....
But we cannot see.
*
There is a vague outline
Of what is to come;
A misty semblance
Of the colonnade's ending.
Is that a rock-face
Or is it a shining cloud
Beyond?
*
This is where we stand on the colonnade......
Here,
Now......
Let us stand and admire.....
But we have already moved on.
*
Other shadows,
Other flashes of glory
Await us.
Off we go!

The light draws me out through the window. Beautiful shot and words. I also like your reflection shot in the next post.
