Hidden Valley

COLOR CARNIVAL

HIDDEN VALLEY
This painting has been rattling round inside my 'To Blog' store,
And by now I can't remember where I found it any more!
Worse still I can't remember who the artist was! Too bad!
If the painter ever sees this blog 'he's' entitled to be mad!
I like to give credit where it's due; I don't like to simply 'steal',
And this painting has, for me, at least, a wonderful appeal.
If anybody sees this and can fill the details in,
I'll feel exonerated and cleansed of all my sin!
I'll add the artist's name to it and make it 'bold' and 'red',
And then I'll be delighted and no longer hang my head!
*
I love these vibrant colours, I love the Autumn tints,
I love the air of secrecy at which the painting hints.
The 'feeling' of a window with gauzy curtains wide,
And the startling blue roof that is viewed from 'me'  alone, inside.
Is this a well-known painting? Is this a national treasure?
I only know to gives to me a feeling of great pleasure!

WORLD HUNGER
(An Acrostic)

Wails of grief from little children, bellies all distended!
Our duty is to rescue them; at least, that's what's intended!
Rescue isn't easy, though; aid may be misplaced.
Loaves and fishes disappear! That's what must be faced.
Disaster looms for many millions while we eat our tea;
*
Hungry children, but not ours; how can such things be?
Unless humanity works out some way to make things fair
Nothing's going to improve; they wont get their share.
Generous hearts are not enough; the system .......that's what fails
Earth can still provide enough to calm those anguished wails.
Reorganise the system and then, with hope, we'll see
Those little starving children as well-fed as you and me!

Interesting picture! But I cannothelp with the artist's identity. Thanks for your comment on my catbird. They got their name from the sound they make which sounds something like a cat meowing. When I was photographing hem, they were quiet, but I did hear a strange "meow" at dusk coming from the trees.

I love the artwork, but can't help you with the artist's name. The accompanying poem is great.

Your acrostic speaks volumes. If only the ordinary people of the world were in charge - those that become our government tend to lose perspective and desire for helping wans in response to power and money.

Oops, a little political view there - sorry.

Great poetry today :)

I have no idea who created the painting. It really does have great colors. Actually, I'm wearing colors much like them right now.

I'm cautious about my image swipes. I try to avoid it as much as i can, and frequently put part of the URL where I found it in my filenames because I'm very bad at keeping track.

I love the art work, as well. Hope you get a lead on the artist. Your post might help - I've just had people showing up in my email because of previous blog posts, and an old mystery is beginning to see a solution.

Thanks for linking up with us this weekend. I wish I could help you with your artist dilemma. Your acrostic is touching, if only there were and easy solution to hunger.

I love the painting too and the words you use to describe it are a perfect match to the image.

The acrostic get's right to the heart of the problem.
