FACE OF THE WEEK
HAT TRICK
I went to a birthday party; this little girl was there
She didn't know me from Adam but she didn't seem to care.
'Do you like my hat?' she said to me with a cheeky little laugh;
'Do I look pretty? Would you like to take my photograph?'
The hat was clearly an adult's so she had to hold it on.
'See you later!' Another grin. And, suddenly, she was gone!

SCOOTER AND HOOTER!
Granny, off on a spree one day, went zooming down the highway.
Shouting to other vehicles 'Don't dare to get in my way!
All my life I longed to drive, but no-one ever taught me!
Now I'm eighty have a look at the vehicle they've bought me!
I've put my best blue coat on to honour this event.
And if I bump into motor cars they'll only get a dent!
I've suddenly found freedom, The wind blows in my hair!
Well, it would if I took my scarf off! I wonder if I dare!
I sound my little hooter! I try to get up speed!
Fuel of a higher octane is the thing I really need.
I'd love to find a race-track and do 'wheelies' with the boys!
Why should only young ones have the pleasure of fast toys?
Don't try to overtake me! I have the right of way!
Yippee! I'm an Old Age Pensioner! This is my lucky day!'

Priceless! I love them. We have lots of scooters in My Muskoka ! Never thought to write a poem. You are quite creative!
Great shot of the adorable child and fun hat.
What a little sweetie!
Those buggies really worry me - they're so unstable! I hope the other drivers are considerate and careful with that adventurous little old lady.
What a cutie pie.
Awwww - what a sweet photo of the little girl! She has the kind of face that makes you smile regardless of how you are feeling. What a beautiful little 'Face of the Week'! Thanks *so* much for sharing it and for the great verse that accompanies it. A wonderful post! Thank you for participating in 'Face of the Week' this week - a perfect photo!
What a cutie! She looks so pleased with herself, as well she should be. Good job catching the moment.
