Relic

SCENIC SUNDAY

RELIC

Nearly forty years ago a great storm wrecked our coast;
A cyclone battered everything in sight.
In the morning we discovered that a foreign cargo ship
Had been washed up on the beach at dead of night.
The ship was called 'The Sygna' and it's been there ever since,
Rusting away and not a sign of crew.
But thrill-seekers on motor-bikes like to ride out on the dunes
In order that they get a better view.
One day no doubt she'll crumble  and slip beneath the waves
And our 'ancient relic' will be seen no more.
Until that time the bikes will come
Putt-putting along on Stockton's sandy shore.

Interesting! The phot to me lokks like it's something someone put there as an artpiece (there is so much strange art these days...)

Amazing that it's been there for 40 years now. I like the composition of your photo really much.

Such a great photo with wonderful composition, interest and colour. It is amazing how long a wreck can last and how noticeable the changes are in it from storm to storm and season to season. Thanks for sharing.
