Fat Pigeons

SHADOW SHOT
http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/

FAT PIGEONS
(With Apologies to 'Ten Green Bottles')

Twelve fat pigeons sitting on a wire.
Twelve fat pigeons sitting on a wire.
But if four fat pigeons should suddenly expire
There'd be eight fat pigeons sitting on the wire.
(Plus one observer!)

(A Cinquain)

Reptile.
Swivel-eyed.  Grass-tinted.
Peering, hesitating, venturing.
Ready to change colour.
Chameleon.

Once again, Brenda I've popped in for my daily dose of rhyme...and LOVED it. We often wonder how the birds (pigeons etc) don't get electricuted on the mess and jumble of wires in Khartoum

Quirky and fun post! The hint of shadow from the wires looks a little like a skipping rope!

I like that shadow and how it must change in numbers over and over.

So, you see, unsightly wires are useful to have around - they are lovely bus stops for the birds while useful to us for the power needed. I have often included them in painting or prints as part of the scene, if they are there. Do pigeons ever expire - I think a lot of people in cities wish they did!

I got such a kick out of that "observer" over there on the wall. What a cute photo, and wonderful rhyme!
